This article is about the the Israelis striking a military base near the Syrian port city of Latakia. The target was missiles and related equipment that was believed by the Israelis would be transferred to the militant group Hezbollah. The timing of the attack is confused to be of Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Israel has been accused many other times this year of launching airstrikes inside Syria. This article shows the violence of attacking Syria unexpectantly.

This article follows the Unit 2 Standard, Modern history in SW Asia.

This relates to the standard because of all the fighting that's been going on in SWA, such as the arguing of the Israelis and Palestinians. The Israeli strike at the Syrian military base shows how there's always two or more countries in conflict and in this case its between the Israelis and the Syrians. In the Israeli-Palestinian conflict the two ethnic groups, Palestinian and Israeli had conflict.
